Selon South Front : "Des groupes militants soutenus par la Turquie, communément appelés Armée syrienne libre (ASL), se préparent à prendre d'assaut les positions restantes des unités de protection du peuple kurde (YPG) au sud de la ville d'Afrin, selon des sources pro-ASL. Les forces armées turques (FAT) et l'ASL ont capturé la ville d'Afrin au YPG le week-end dernier. Depuis lors, les forces turques ont obtenu leurs gains récents dans le nord-ouest de la Syrie. Dans le même temps, peu de rapports ont fait état d'affrontements entre l'ASL et les YPG près du village de Halisa. Cela peut également indiquer que l'ASL et les FAT visent à capturer les positions restantes du YPG dans la région. La ville de Tell Rifaat a longtemps été au cœur des tensions entre le YPG et l'ASL dans le nord d'Alep. Ainsi, les dirigeants de l'ASL seront heureux de saisir toutes les occasions qui s'offrent à eux. Le problème est que le YPG a récemment remis un certain nombre de points de contrôle dans la région aux Forces de défense nationale pro-gouvernementales et à l'armée arabe syrienne. Ainsi, l'avance de l'ASL sur Tell Rifaat pourrait déclencher un conflit entre les forces turques et syriennes dans la région." 1. Update on the Turkish military offensive in Afrin, D60
According to South Front : "Turkish-backed militant groups, commonly referred as the Free Syrian Army (FSA), are preparing to storm remaining positions of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) south of the city of Afrin, according to pro-FSA sources. The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the FSA captured the city of Afrin from the YPG last weekend. Since then, Turksih forces have been securing their recent gains in northwestern Syria. On the same time, few reports have appeared about clashes between the FSA and the YPG near the village of Halisa. This may also indicate that the FSA and the TAF are aiming to capture the remaining positions of the YPG in the area. The town of Tell Rifaat has been for a long time a core of the tensions between the YPG and the FSA in northern Aleppo. So, the FSA leadership will be happy to use any opportunity to capture it. The problem is that the YPG has recently handed over a number of checkpoints in the area to the pro-government National Defense Forces and the Syrian Arab Army. So, the FSA advance on Tell Rifaat may trigger a conflict between Turkish and Syrian forces in the area". Finally, the BBC reports numerous cases of looting in Afrin (see photo below).

Laut South Front : "Türkisch unterstützte militante Gruppen, allgemein als die Freie Syrische Armee (FSA) bezeichnet, bereiten sich darauf vor, die verbleibenden Positionen der Kurdischen Volksschutzeinheiten (YPG) südlich der Stadt Afrin zu stürmen, so die Quellen der FSA. Die türkischen Streitkräfte (TAF) und die FSA haben am vergangenen Wochenende die Stadt Afrin von der YPG erobert. Seitdem haben die türkischen Streitkräfte ihre jüngsten Errungenschaften im Nordwesten Syriens gesichert.Zur gleichen Zeit sind nur wenige Berichte über Zusammenstöße zwischen der FSA und der YPG in der Nähe des Dorfes Halisa erschienen. Dies kann auch darauf hinweisen, dass die FSA und die TAF darauf abzielen, die verbleibenden Positionen der YPG in diesem Gebiet zu erfassen. Die Stadt Tell Rifaat war lange Zeit ein Kern der Spannungen zwischen der YPG und der FSA im Norden Aleppos. Die FSA-Führung wird also gerne jede Gelegenheit nutzen, um sie zu ergreifen. Das Problem ist, dass die YPG vor kurzem eine Reihe von Kontrollpunkten in diesem Gebiet an die regierungsfreundlichen nationalen Verteidigungskräfte und die syrisch-arabische Armee übergeben hat.
