"Je pense que nous devons comprendre d'abord comment nous en sommes arrivés ici. Nous avons armé l'EIIL (l'État Islamique en Irak et au Levant) en Syrie. L'EIIL, une ramification d'al-Qaeda, a collaboré avec les rebelles syriens que l'administration Obama a armées dans leurs efforts pour renverser le Président syrien Bashar Al-Assad."

"Nous nous sommes battus à côté d'al-Qaeda, en nous battant à côté de l'EIIL" a-t-il déclaré. "L'EIIL est à présent encouragé (à poursuivre son combat,ndt) dans deux pays. Mais voici l'anomalie. Nous sommes avec l'EIIL en Syrie. Nous sommes dans le même camp dans cette guerre. Ainsi, ceux qui veulent s'impliquer pour arrêter l'EIIL en Irak sont alliés avec l'EIIL en Syrie. We're on the same side of the war. So, those who want to get involved to stop ISIS in Iraq are allied with ISIS in Syria. That is real contradiction to this whole policy."
