Le 9 février, à J21 de l'intervention militaire turque à Afrin, l'armée turque et ses supplétifs de l'Armée syrienne libre (ASL) et d'HTS progressent et ont capturé cinq villages à Nesriyya, Dukkan, Iskan et Juqali Fawqani dans le district de Jandaris à l'ouest de la ville d'Afrin ainsi que Tal al-Hawez selon les autorités turques. Entre-temps, les forces kurdes ont annoncé qu'elles avaient repris le contrôle du village de Cheikh Khorouz, dans la région de Bolbol. Enfin, un ancien djihadiste a affirmé à The Independent que la Turquie recrutait des membres de l’Etat islamique dans l'opération Rameau d'olivier contre les Kurdes d'Afrin. Si cela s'avérait exact, cela voudrait dire que l'intervention turque à Afrin constitue un recyclage turque des terroristes de l'EI et d'HTS (ex- Al Nosra affilié à Al Qaïda) plus ou moins parrainé par la Russie.

On 9 February, on J21 of the Turkish military intervention in Afrin, the Turkish army and its substitutes from the Syrian Free Army (ASL) and HTS are making progress and have captured five villages in Nesriyya, Dukkan, Iskan and Juqali Fawqani villages in the Jandaris district west of the city of Afrin and Tal al-Ha. Le 9 février, l'Armée turque et ses supplétifs de l'Armée syrienne libre (ASL) ont capturé les villages de Nesriyya, Dukkan, Iskan et Juqali Fawqani dans le district de Jandaris à l'ouest de la ville d'Afrin, selon l'Agence turque Anadolu. D'après FNA : "L'armée turque et les militants alliés ont battu les milices kurdes dans le village de Nesriyah à Afrin et de Dukkan dans la région de Jandaris au nord d'Alep après de violents affrontements avec les Kurdes. Les sources affiliées aux militants soutenus par Ankara ont confirmé jeudi qu'ils ont pris le contrôle de Tal al-Hawez lors d'affrontements avec les Kurdes dans la région de Bolbol au nord d'Afrin. Ils ont ajouté que la poursuite des progrès dans la région a conduit à la prise de contrôle de la montagne Sheikh Khorouz et de trois villages adjacents de Sheikh Khorouz Foqani, Sheikh Khorouz Vasatani et Sheikh Khorouz Tahtani. Entre-temps, les forces kurdes ont annoncé qu'elles reprenaient le contrôle du village de Cheikh Khorouz depuis Ankara, dans la région de Bolbol".
South Front précise que "des sources syriennes de l'opposition ont également annoncé que l'ASL, soutenue par la Turquie, avait capturé les villages d'Orta Cakalli, Juqali Wastani et Soldujuk dans le district de Sheikh al-Hadid, au nord de Jandaris. Pendant ce temps, CNN Turquie TV a rapporté que l'armée de l'air turque (FAT) avait détruit 19 positions des unités de protection du peuple kurde (YPG) dans la région d'Afrin. Les FAT ont repris leurs opérations contre les YPG en Afrin le 8 février." De son côté, le GPJ a annoncé que ses combattants avaient repoussé une attaque de l'ASL turque contre ses positions dans le village de Haj Bilal, dans le district de Cheikh al-Hadid, et tué 25 combattants de l'ASL autour du village. Les combattants des YPG ont également détruit un bulldozer de l'armée turque avec un ATGM dans le district de Rajo au nord d'Afrin, selon l'agence de presse kurde Hawar (ANHA) rapporté par South Front (vidéo ci-dessous) : "L'armée turque lancera probablement une nouvelle attaque à l'ouest de l'Afrique pour relier ses positions dans les districts de Jandaris et Cheikh al-Hadid dans les prochains jours".

According to FNA:"The Turkish army and allied militants beat the Kurdish militias in the village of Nesriyah in Afrin and Dukkan in the Jandaris region north of Aleppo after violent clashes with the Kurds. The sources affiliated with militants supported by Ankara confirmed Thursday that they took control of Tal al-Hawez during clashes with the Kurds in the Bolbol region of northern Afrin. They added that continued progress in the region has led to the takeover of Sheikh Khorouz Mountain and three adjacent villages of Sheikh Khorouz Foqani, Sheikh Khorouz Vasatani and Sheikh Khorouz Tahtani. Meanwhile, Kurdish forces have announced that they are resuming control of the village of Sheikh Khoruz from Ankara in the Bolbol region. On savait que nombre de supplétifs de l'armée turque appartenaient au groupe HTS (ancien groupe Al Nosra affilié à Al Qaïda) mai sil se pourrai aussi qu'un certain nombre d'entre eux viennent de l'Etat islamique (EI). Selon Russia Today, un ancien djihadiste a affirmé à la presse britannique que la Turquie recrutait de nombreux membres de l’Etat islamique dans l'opération Rameau d'olivier contre les Kurdes d'Afrin, confirmant des déclarations précédentes des combattants kurdes. «La plupart des combattants à Afrin contre les Unités de protection du peuple (YPG) viennent de l’Etat islamique et la Turquie les a entraînés pour qu’ils modifient leurs tactiques d’assaut» : un certain Faraj, ancien combattant de l’Etat islamique âgé de 32 ans, porte de lourdes accusations à l'égard de la Turquie dans les colonnes du quotidien britannique The Independant. Selon lui, la Turquie aurait largement recruté dans les rangs de Daesh pour monter le contingent de l'opération Rameau d'olivier. Selon The Independant, cette stratégie permettrait également à ces anciens djihadistes désormais désœuvrés depuis la débâcle militaire de l'Etat islamique de se retrouver une activité pour se réinsérer dans la société.
