Selon South Front (cf. vidéo et carte ci-dessous), les forces armées turques (FAT) et l'armée syrienne libre (ASL) soutenue par la Turquie ont utilisé leur avantage sur les forces kurdes du YPG/YPJ dans la région d'Afrin et ont capturé la montagne de Bursaya, Qastal Jundu et Yazibagh. De plus, les FAT et l'ASL ont pénétré dans la région de Kevire Kerr Mountain, où des combats intenses ont été signalés. Sur d'autres fronts, le YPG/YPJ a réussi à repousser les attaques des forces turques. Les combattants syriens (FDS) soutenus par les États-Unis dans la région de Manbij, dans le nord de la Syrie, ont été déployés en première ligne pour faire face à une attaque turque menaçante et sont en contact avec la coalition dirigée par les États-Unis sur la protection de la ville, a déclaré leur porte-parole mercredi selon Reuters. According to South Front, (see video and card below) the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (TFSA) used their advantage over Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces in the area of Afrin and captured Bursaya Mount, Qastal Jundu and Yazibagh. Additionally, the TAF and the TFSA entered the area of Kevire Kerr Mountain where an intense fighting was reported. On other fronts, the YPG/YPJ was able to repel attacks by Turkish forces.

The Turkish General Staff released a statement claiming that Turkish forces ‘neutralized’ 73 ‘terrorists’ including some mysterious ISIS members in Afrin on January 29 alone. The statement added that from the start of Operation Olive Branch on January 20 to January 29, in total 557 so-called ‘terrorists’ had been ‘neutralized.’
